지난 2023년 11월 30일 신학승 교수는 제주 서귀포 스타트업베이에서 개최된 "문화도시 서귀포 마이스 정책 토론회"에 참여하여 주제 발표 및 패널 토론을 실시하였다. 발표에서 신학승 교수는 마이스 산업의 최신 트랜드와 마을관광 활성화를 위한 마을마이스 컨셉과 특징 그리고 마을마이스 활성화 방안을 언급하였다. 특히, 지역경제 활성화와 지역소멸에 대응하기 위한 비지니스 관광객 중심의 마을관광 진흥전략과 한계 그리고 정책방안을 소개하였으며 서귀포시의 노지문화와 마을마이스 브랜딩 방안에 대하여 설명하였다.

On November 30, 2023, Prof. Shin participated in the "Cultural City Seogwipo MICE Policy Symposium" held at Jeju Seogwipo Startup Bay. During the event, he delivered a presentation and took part in a panel discussion. In the presentation, he discussed the latest trends in the MICE industry and highlighted the concept and characteristics of "Local Community MICE" for the activation of cultural tourism. Specifically, he addressed the activation strategies for the Local Community MICE, focusing on revitalizing the local economy and addressing the challenges of regional decline. Prof. Shin introduced a tourism development strategy centered around business tourists and discussed its limitations, as well as proposed policy measures. He also elaborated on Seogwipo City's rural culture and branding strategies for the Local Community MICE.
