한양대학교 미래혁신관광연구실(지도교수 신학승)은 2월 10~11일 청주 오스코(OSCO)에서 열린 제99차 한국관광학회 충북국제학술대회에서 일반연구논문 최우수논문상, 국제연구논문 최우수논문상, 충북연구원 특별 최우수논문상을 동시에 수상하는 성과를 거두었습니다.
일반연구논문 부문 최우수상과 충북연구원 특별 최우수논문상은 박주란·이정희·장선우 연구원과 신학승 교수가 공동으로 수행한 「공간적 이질성을 고려한 관광의 지역경제 효과 분석과 질적 전환으로의 정책적 함의」 연구가 수상했습니다. 이 연구는 관광의 경제적 효과가 지역별로 다르게 나타남을 실증적으로 분석하고, 관광객 수 중심의 양적 성장에서 체류와 소비를 중시하는 고부가가치 ‘질적 관광’으로의 정책 전환 필요성을 제시했습니다. 국제연구논문 최우수상은 신학승 교수와 조지현·한지혜 연구원이 공동 수행한 「Reimagining Human Purpose in the Age of AI and Post-Work Societies」가 수상했습니다. 이 연구는 AI와 자동화로 노동 중심 사회가 재편되는 상황에서 관광이 단순한 여가를 넘어 인간 삶의 목적과 의미를 재구성하는 핵심 영역이 될 수 있음을 제시하며 ‘관광 르네상스(Tourism Renaissance)’ 개념을 제안했습니다. 모두들 축하드립니다!!

The FITLAB achieved an outstanding accomplishment by winning three major awards simultaneously at the 99th TOSOK International Conference hosted by the Tourism Sciences Society of Korea, held on February 10–11 at OSCO in Cheongju. The lab received the Best Paper Award (General Research), the Best Paper Award (International Research), and the Chungbuk Research Institute Special Best Paper Award.
The Best Paper Award (General Research Session) and the Chungbuk Research Institute Special Best Paper Award were presented to the study titled “An Analysis of the Regional Economic Effects of Tourism Considering Spatial Heterogeneity and Policy Implications for a Qualitative Shift,” conducted jointly by researchers Juran Park, Jeonghee Lee, Sunwoo Jang, and Professor Hakseung Shin. This study empirically demonstrated that tourism’s economic impacts vary across regions and emphasized the need to shift tourism policy from quantity-driven growth focused on visitor numbers toward high-value “quality tourism” centered on longer stays and higher spending. The Best Paper Award (International Research Session) was awarded to “Reimagining Human Purpose in the Age of AI and Post-Work Societies,” conducted by Professor Hakseung Shin together with researchers Jihyun Cho and Jihye Han. This study argues that, as AI and automation restructure labor-centered societies, tourism may evolve from a peripheral leisure activity into a core domain for reconstructing human purpose and meaning in life, proposing the concept of a “Tourism Renaissance.” Congratulations to all award recipients!
