The FIT Lab focuses on regional tourism ecosystem innovation as its core research area and conducts academic studies with the overarching goal of promoting sustainable tourism development based on technology and ESG principles.

The lab’s research topics include the development of digital regional tourism content, AI-driven tourism ecosystem innovation, the creation of ESG-oriented sustainable regional tourism environments, the revitalization of marine tourism, and the expansion of the tourism living population to address regional depopulation. In pursuing these research objectives, the lab actively employs a wide range of methodologies. These include longitudinal data analysis based on surveys, qualitative research, big data analytics, machine learning, geographic information system (GIS) analysis, scenario and field experiments, participant observation, and systematic literature reviews. By applying such diverse quantitative and qualitative approaches, the lab strives to ensure the reliability and validity of its research outcomes.
